Witness the Amazing Atlantic City Air Show

The Atlantic City Air show is known as the “Thunder Over the Boardwalk”, and is one of Atlantic City’s most popular events and one of the best and largest air shows in all of North America. Here you get the chance to witness the heart-stopping feats and aerobatic maneuvers by military and civilian pilots. Also see amazing formation flying and solo routines that the whole family can enjoy. Don’t fall behind and book your cheap flights to Atlanta to see these amazing feats being performed live every year in August.

Before the Atlantic City air show you get to salute America’s Armed Forces on their annual Boardwalk Parade. Along with the Military bands you will get to see the Veterans and US Coast Guard Training Center Band, Police and Fire Department Bands in their finest uniforms along with multiple floats carrying live entertainment such as the Jersey Shore Rock & Roll ensemble and the New Orleans Brass Band.
At the Air Show you get to experience the thrill of watching live flybys and demonstrations that reach up to 15,000 feet and down low as 50 feet over the water, right in front of the Atlantic City skyline performed by:

• US Air Force Thunderbirds
• US Navy Super Hornet
• US Army Golden Knights Parachute Team
• US Coast Guard Search & Rescue Demo
• Canadian Skyhawks Parachute Team
• US Air Force Heritage Flight
• US Air Force Hercules
• Geico Skytypers
• US Air Force KC-135 Stratotanker
• Heavy Metal Jet Team
• US Air Force F-16 Fighter Falcon
• US Air Force Thunderbolt II
• US Air Force Globemaster III
And so much more.

Getting here to watch the show will be easy enough as many special busses and other forms of transport will be available for on this day. Also the viewing of the show is free from any location on the Boardwalk and beach but to get premium seats and join on the special lunches you will need to pay. However all boating activities will be closed during the time of the show due to security reasons and the water will be declared a ‘no boating zone’ except for the Coast Guard and other Police Boats but as soon as the show is over you can take any kind of boat ride you want.

The timings of the show are from 1000 to 1700 hours and we recommend bringing your own sunscreen, snack and bottled water, and be sure to wear sun glasses and light clothing as it does tend to get pretty hot during the sunny August afternoons. Bring along cameras and binoculars for better views and ear plugs if you have small children with you. If you plan to sit on the beach then hats and umbrellas are as important as your bathing suits. Make sure you have access to the radio to listen to the live Atlantic City Air show broadcast from the Boardwalk to remain informed of what all is going on around you at AM 1400 WOND and Lite Rock 96.9 WFPG.
Plan your trip as this is an experience of a life time and worth the watch. Atlantic City itself offers so many activities and entertainment with unique restaurants and casinos but this special event is like no other and truly is aptly titled: “Thunder Over the Boardwalk”.
